About Hank Rivoir
Hank Rivoir began taking pictures with a Brownie camera as a child. Next stop was a 35mm rangefinder camera that accompanied him to many places, including Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, where an unexpected flash flood ruined the camera but did not dampen his enthusiasm for photography. In high school and college, Hank used both a 35mm Nikkormat and 2¼” Bronica for sports, news, and wedding photography, developing and printing all of his black and white images himself. Now, with the advent of digital imaging, Hank has rediscovered his love for photography and is presenting his new collection of digitally enhanced images. Hank strives to make his photographs emulate oil paintings in style, subject and vibrancy. His particular goal is to present a vivid image that helps the viewer see ordinary objects and scenes in an extraordinary way. His subjects range from desert southwest agave to California seascapes, each presented to enhance the viewer’s appreciation of the subject matter. Hank resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is a member of the Sonoran Arts League and the Scottsdale Artist’s League.
